Hi, we had the pleasure of stopping at Casanova for lunch during a one day tour of Maui with Polynesian Adventure Tours. The food was fantastic!! Our favourite was the Funghi Linguine, my husband just about licked his plate, and I now have the hard task of trying to replicate the dish. The home-made italian bread was also very nice. A big Mahalo to the chefs and the friendly staff we encountered during our visit, it was a pleasure :)

Your Australian fans,

Best Cafe with a great people watching spot on Maui!

The Roma sandwich with the fresh basil & mozarella on focaccia is AMAZING!

Interesting pasta salads & desserts not to be missed!

Hi all at Casanova!

My name is Serena and I live in Melbourne Australia. I came to visit family on Maui and I worked in the Casanova deli from Feb to July 1991. I have so many happy and fond memories of working there! It was where I was first introduced to the ultimate dessert - Tiramisu! I am now showing my kids where I worked and was so excited to see Francesca's photo, she probably doesn't remember me, but she hired me. I loved working there, everyone was so nice and the food was soooo good!

Thanks!

I JUST RECEIVED THIS EMAIL AND I LIKE TO SHARE.
A GOOD LESSON IN THE BENEFITS OF GOING THE EXTRA MILE.

Staff and Management,

Last year we were on Maui and it happened to fall on Mother’s Day. It being Mother’s Day and all, My wife, her mother and my three year old little girl were looking for a place to eat an early dinner and happened upon Casanova’s. We told my little girl Olivia that she could have spaghetti. She was very happy. Then when we walked in, the server informed us that Mother’s Day was reservation only.

When we explained to Miss Olivia (our daughter) that we couldn’t eat there she lost control and cried like someone took her puppy away. Then the manager came out and comforted her and said that he would see what he could do and seated us a couple minutes later. We had a wonderful time and the food was spectacular! I would love the recipe for the Gorgonzola Ribeye (I think that is what it was) I have tried to make it, but can only come near how good that steak was.

The best part of the meal watching my daughter enjoy that spaghetti. She had a blast and made a pretty good mess with it. I snapped a couple shots with my phone and forgot they were on my phone until the other day. I will attach a few and let you guys know how much we appreciate and will always remember that Mother’s Day.

We hope to make it back someday. It was a special trip for us, since we don’t get the chance to travel much.

Miss Olivia and Mommy (Aimee)

I just wanted to thank Cassanovas for sponsoring Upcountry Acoustc Sunday. It is rare for such an esteemed establishment to support local singer songwriters in an all age atmosphere that is professional , warm and broadcast across the web LIVE.

We visited Casanova's upon a recommendation from our ship's captain on the Trilogy. Owen is also a resident of Makawai and suggested Casanova's for it's excellent Italian cuisine. The food was good, but the service was excellent. Nickoei not only assisted us with choosing entrees, but she made the extra effort to chase us down a block to return my husband's reading glasses that he had left onthe table. In this world of non-customer service representatives, be assued that the folks at Casanova's will take great care of you.

I have been to Italy many times and Casanova is the first Italian restaurant in America (and we have dined in hundreds of fine Italian restaurants throughout our country) where the food actually tastes the same as in Italy. We ordered the spinach, ricotta filled ravioli with a sage cream, truffle sauce. Oh my God - it was to die for! The only problem was that there weren't enough ravioli on my plate! The Margherita pizza was equally authentic in flavor and the focaccia bread was outstanding. I wish we had room for dessert.

Too bad we live in Arizona - makes me wanna cry!

Mille grazie!

My husband and I recently dined at your restaurant on the 4th of this month for our 25th wedding anniversary. Though I've been to Italy many times before, and even lived there for five years in my youth, this is the first Italian restaurant that is the closest in taste to actually being in Italy. Should we ever return to Maui, we will make it a point to eat there again.

Normally I enjoy a good Sangiovese for its fruity flavor and low tannin which doesn't give me a headache, however we ordered your house wine (by the glass) and I loved it! It wasn't as light or fruity, as a matter of fact it tasted somewhat dryer or less sweet though it also had almost no tannin bite. I would sincerely appreciate the name of this lovely wine, and its origin.

Thank you so much,

Dawn Stephens
